Second post card submission

I wanted to try another idea I had. I took the postcards and lit them on fire, all the black is from the flame coming up and "painting" the wood in unpredictable ways. I then looked at each and imagined, if those burn marks were people, what would they look like? And these are them.

Update: I never submitted these in the end. :(

Brownstones to Red Dirt submission

Dave and Chad, co-workers of mine at Blue Sky, made a documentary and have organized an art auction to raise money to help build a school in Sierra Leone. This is my submission.

Graphite done on thin postcards of wood. I haven't done any hand drawings in a long time so this was a fun way to get back into it. Check out the blog with everyone's submissions here, there are a ton of gorgeous pieces up for sale for a good cause:
